Teen, Grandfather Arrested for Manufacturing Ghost Guns

Investigators found AR-15 assault rifles, high-capacity magazines, handguns and ammunition.

Authorities arrested a man and his grandson on accusations of manufacturing AR-15 assault rifles.

Police identified the suspects as 18-year-old Clayton Hobby and his 64-year-old grandfather, Kerry Schunk, who was helping the teen. 

Officers found and seized multiple ghost gun AR-15 rifles, one of which was converted to shoot fully automatic.

Investigators also found 15 high-capacity magazines, three ghost gun polymer handguns and some 1,000 rounds of ammunition. 

Hobby faces criminal possession of a pistol and ammunition, possession of an assault weapon and high-capacity magazines and manufacture of a machine gun.

Schunk faces conspiracy to commit criminal possession of an assault weapon, pistol and ammunition and conspiracy to commit possession of high-capacity magazines and manufacture of a machine gun.

Hobby and Schunk appeared in court and their bonds were set at $500,000 and $25,000, respectively.
