Yesterday, Stamford, Connecticut-based critical component maker ITT Inc. announced a $31 million project that will establish a new manufacturing and distribution center for its Goulds Pumps business in Memphis, Tennessee. The investment will expand the company's operational capabilities, support continued growth and enhance its ability to meet North American demand.
The new facility in Shelby County is expected to create 57 new jobs and will provide additional capacity for manufacturing, distribution, warehousing and inventory management.
Founded in 1848 in Seneca Falls, New York, Goulds Pumps, now a part of ITT's Flow Technologies group, makes engineered pumping solutions and technologies for critical industrial applications.
The investment builds on the company's existing distribution operations in Southaven, Mississippi, which ran out of room to grow. The Memphis facility will support a broad range of industrial pumping solutions, including ANSI, API, process and multistage pumps serving customers in the energy, mining, power, chemical, pulp and paper, water and wastewater and general industrial markets.
The company will move into an existing facility at 5633 Mineral Wells Road.
