Nidec Sankyo Corp.said it will open a new factory in Taiwan to manufacture transfer robots for handling LCD glass substrates.
It will be the company’s first overseas production of LCD-panel transfer robots, and is expected to be completed in late December 2006, with operations starting in January 2007.
The location was chosen because of the concentration of LCD panel makers in Taiwan, and the new factory is also looking to expand into small-sized LCD-panel transfer robots.
