Celanese Chemicals said Thursday it will increase the price for its vinyl and acrylic polymer emulsions sold in Europe by up to EUR 80 per ton, effective for shipments on or after Oct. 1, 2006, or as contracts allow.
Pricing will reflect unique technology and delivery requirements for each product. The increase is primarily required to offset continued substantial rises in raw material and energy costs associated with the production of the products, Cleanese said, noting that various raw material suppliers have recently announced force majeure.
