Boston Scientific is warning investors that a recent cyberattack is expected to have a material impact on its upcoming financial results.
The company last week provided an update on a cyberattack that resulted in a network outage and disruption to the company’s operations.
It said the incident affected access to certain operating systems and business applications, including the ability to manufacture products, as well as process and ship customer orders.
"We recognize the importance of cybersecurity for patients, customers and vendor systems. Patients and physicians are at the center of our recovery effort. We are working to maintain continuity of supply. Further, Boston Scientific continues to investigate potential impact to patients’ implanted devices or to devices that connect to networks across our product portfolio and will provide updates as soon as they are available," the company said.
But the company has determined that, due to the cyberattack, it will be unlikely to meet the net sales growth and adjusted EPS guidance ranges for the third quarter and full year 2026 that were previously provided. It anticipates recovering some portion of the impacted revenue as it continues to ramp operations globally, fulfill customer orders and reduce remaining backlogs, however the full impacts are not yet known.
