PepsiCo quietly initiated a recall of tens of thousands of cases of its Gatorade sports drink late last month because the labels did not disclose the presence of yellow food dyes.

The food and beverage giant started the recall on Sept. 25, according to a notice posted by the FDA. The company did not issue a press release about the measure, which impacted 122,021 cases of beverages with Yellow No. 6 and/or Yellow No. 5 that was not declared on the label.

The recalled products include 28-ounce bottles in “Lemon Lime,” "Lemon Lime Zero,” “Orange” and “Orange Zero” flavors. The cases were distributed across 37 states.
