Airgas has purchased a California packaged gas and welding distribution business from an auto parts retailer, company officials announced.
Airgas — the no. 4 distributor on ID’s latest Big 50 — disclosed the late-2025 acquisition of Hust Brothers’ gas distribution unit in late March in a statement posted by GAWDA Media.
The business provided industrial packaged gases and welding personal protective equipment to customers in the industrial and agricultural sectors near Marysville and Yuba City, California. Those customers, Airgas officials said, would now see an expanded product range, including safety gear and medical gases, from the company’s “NCN” region based in Yuba City.
Two Hust Brothers employees joined Airgas as part of the deal; additional terms were not disclosed.
“The acquisition of the packaged gas and welding distribution division of Hust Brothers Inc. demonstrates that Airgas continues to be the exit plan of choice for a variety of independent distributors," Mike Eaton, the senior vice president of Airgas corporate development, said in the statement. "We thank the business owners for their trust in Airgas, and we look forward to continuing to offer the excellent service that Hust Brothers Inc. customers have come to expect.”
