Astemo to Open New Regional Headquarters in Michigan

The automotive components supplier expects to create 200 jobs in the Detroit area.

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - Astemo Americas, a subsidiary of Astemo, Ltd. will invest $95 million to develop a new regional headquarters complex in Wixom, Michigan.

The initiative is in response to the increasingly complicated software requirements that arise with automotive industry advances in autonomous driving and electrification. Astemo will strengthen its competitiveness in SDV (Software Defined Vehicle) technologies in the United States as well as in Japan.

The initiative is expected to create 200 new jobs in the Detroit area, including more than 150 engineering positions focused on developing SDV technologies.

Astemo Americas' new 26-acre campus along I-96 in Wixom will have a testing facility including test tracks and 185,000 square-feet of office and lab space for engineering, software development, marketing, customer-service and administration personnel.

Astemo Americas CEO and President Tim Clark, said, "Our new Wixom facilities will provide us with space needed to further develop and showcase our cutting-edge technology, attract additional engineering talent and strengthen our collaboration with customers."

He added that construction on the new Wixom complex will begin in the spring of 2026 with completion expected in the fall of 2027.

Additional plans and details about the new headquarters complex will be announced later in September.
