PepsiCo plans to shut down beverage production at a facility in Detroit and lay off dozens of workers, according to a recent report.

The company told the Detroit Free Press in an email that it would end manufacturing, transportation and maintenance at the campus in the city’s Forest Park neighborhood. Officials said that other functions, including warehousing, delivery, fleet operations, field service and sales, would remain.

The cuts would affect 84 employees by late September, according to a notice filed with Michigan officials.

“We are committed to supporting those impacted through this transition, and we are offering pay and benefits to impacted employees,” the company told the paper.
