An Ohio-based steelmaker has unveiled what it’s calling “the most generous vaccine incentive program in the world."
Cleveland-Cliffs says its employees can net cash bonuses for getting vaccinated for COVID-19.
But in this case, the more workers that get vaccinated, the greater the incentive.
A report by regional news outlet NWI.com quotes a message to employees from Cleveland-Cliffs CEO Lourenco Goncalves.
Goncalves says he truly cares about the company’s workforce, which is why he’s established an incentive program.
If 75 percent of workers at a given site show proof of vaccination, each employee there will receive a $1,500 bonus.
That number jumps to $3,000 per employee if the facility hits 85 percent.
Goncalves says that if the facilities don’t meet these thresholds, individuals who are vaccinated will still each receive a $200 award.
