Toro Snowthrower Recalled Over Amputation Risk

The augers can fail to turn off.

Snow blowers across the nation are putting forth their fair share of effort in recent weeks as snowstorms have pummeled the country.

But one major manufacturer of snow removal equipment has announced an important recall.

Toro is recalling 6,700 of its Power Max 826 OHAE Snowthrowers due to amputation risks associated with the machinery.

The augers can reportedly fail to disengage when they’re supposed to, meaning they can keep spinning when the user releases the control lever.

Five incidents related to this problem have been reported, but no injuries have resulted.

The $1,200 snow throwers were sold nationwide between November 2020 and January 2021.

The impacted model number is 37802.
