Titanic II Delays Maiden Voyage

The shipping company has designed the ship to exactly resemble the original... but don't tell the icebergs.

Unfortunately for those of you who already had your swimsuits packed, the ship known as the "Titanic II," which was originally planned to set sail in 2016, has announced its maiden voyage has been delayed for another two years.

The shipping company, Blue Star Line, has designed the ship to exactly resemble the original 1912 ship.

Umm… I don’t really know how to say this, but I have some bad news about that specific ship…

While it doesn't deviate from the original visually, Titanic II will be 4 meters wider than the original and have a welded hull in keeping with modern safety standards. Blue Star Line says the new Titanic will, of course, have modern evacuation procedures, satellite controls, digital navigation and radar systems and all those things you'd expect on a 21st century ship.

And, might I suggest – lifeboats. Like, a ton.
