BEIJING (AP) -- Seven more people have been jailed in China for selling a banned chemical that makes pork leaner but is harmful to humans.
The official Xinhua News Agency said Thursday that a court in central Henan province sentenced the seven to jail terms ranging from one to 10 years for selling clenbuterol to farmers.
Xinhua says they were also fined up to 28,000 yuan ($4,000), according to Tuesday's verdict.
Last month, a man was sentenced to death for producing and selling clenbuterol. Six other people, including three former food safety officials, were also jailed.
Clenbuterol can cause nausea, dizziness, headaches and heart palpitations in humans.
Tainted pork is among a string of recent food scandals in China.
