Toyota To Recall Over 8,000 Cars

Automaker plans to recall more than 8,000 Innova cars in Vietnam for problems including a faulty pressure cylinder for rear wheel brakes.

HANOI, Vietnam (AP) -- Toyota plans to recall more than 8,000 Innova cars in Vietnam for problems including a faulty pressure cylinder for rear wheel brakes.

A company spokeswoman said Friday the seven-seater vehicles, Toyota's best selling model in Vietnam, will be recalled for three flaws.

She said Toyota Motor Corp. has not received any reports of accidents linked to the defects so far.

Toyota sold nearly 31,000 vehicles last year in Vietnam, accounting for nearly a third of the market.

All Toyota cars assembled in Vietnam are for domestic sales and not exported.
