ZURICH, Switzerland (AP) -- Electric vehicle maker Tesla Motors said Tuesday that it will open a showroom in Zurich next month.
The store is the 12th regional sales and service center for the company and will showcase its high end Roadster sports car. The Roadster is powered by a rechargeable battery that can be plugged into electric sockets.
Tesla said it has delivered about 50 Roadsters to customers in Switzerland, part of more than 1,000 cars that Tesla has sold in 25 countries.
Late last month, Toyota Motors Corp. said it would invest $50 million in Tesla when the company begins selling stock to the public.
