Sherwin-Williams To Acquire Wood Coatings Maker

Paint maker said it agreed to acquire Swedish company Becker Acroma Industrial Wood Coatings, one of the largest manufacturers of industrial wood coatings in the world.

CLEVELAND (AP) -- Paint maker Sherwin-Williams Co. said Monday it has agreed to acquire Becker Acroma Industrial Wood Coatings.

The transaction, which is subject to certain regulatory approvals, is expected to close in the third quarter. Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

Becker Acroma, a subsidiary of AB Wilh. Becker, is one of the largest manufacturers of industrial wood coatings in the world. The company is based in Stockholm.

Becker Acroma has more than 900 employees and annual sales of about $300 million.
