China Drugmaker Gets Swine Flu Vaccine License

Simcere Pharmaceutical Group said a Chinese company in which it owns a stake, Jiangsu Yanshen Biological Technology Stock Co., received a license to make a swine flu vaccine.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Chinese drugmaker Simcere Pharmaceutical Group said Tuesday that a company in which it owns a stake, Jiangsu Yanshen Biological Technology Stock Co., received a license to make a swine flu vaccine.

Jiangsu Yanshen received a new drug certificate and a production license from China's food and drug regulators on Friday, Simcere said. Simcere said it has a 37.5 percent stake in Jiangsu Yanshen, which is one of six Chinese flu vaccine makers with a license to make a swine flu vaccine.
