NEW YORK (AP) -- Cocoa and chocolates maker Barry Callebaut said Wednesday that it sold its Asian consumer division to The Hershey Co. for an undisclosed amount.
Hershey's acquisition of was effective Feb. 28.
Callebaut will still own the Van Houten brand, but Hershey will be allowed to use the name and related trademarks in the Middle East, Australia, New Zealand and Asia Pacific through an exclusive license.
Hershey, based in Hershey, Pa., is the second-largest U.S. candymaker after Mars Inc. Its brands incude Reese's, Almond Joy and Hershey's Kisses.
