STOCKHOLM, Sweden (AP) -- Swedish bus and truck maker AB Volvo Tuesday said it received an order for 240 buses from the city of Bangalore, India.
The company said the 240 buses are set for delivery during 2008 and 2009, and will add to 70 Volvo buses already running in the city.
No financial information was released.
''BMTC's decision after two years of testing to now make a larger investment is an important step in our company's development,'' said Akash Passey, Managing Director Volvo Bus Body Technologies India.
He added that the company has possibilities to grow in India, as well as in export markets.
