NEW YORK (AP) — A unit of General Electric Co. said Thursday it formed a joint venture in India with Eureka Forbes Ltd. to make water purification products in that country.
The venture between GE Water & Process Technologies and Eureka Forbes, a unit of the Shapoorji Pallonji Group, will manufacture GE's reverse osmosis membranes at a plant in Dehradun, in the northern state of Uttarakhand.
Products made by Infinite Water Solutions Pvt. Ltd., as the joint venture is known, will by sold to residential customers by Eureka Forbes' Indian sales force, which numbers about 7,000 people.
