British Supermarket Pulls Chinese Candies

Britain's biggest supermarket chain Tesco says it is withdrawing a brand of Chinese candies from its shelves amid the milk poison scare rocking China.

LONDON (AP) -- Britain's biggest supermarket chain Tesco says it is withdrawing a brand of Chinese candies from its shelves amid the milk poison scare rocking China.

Tesco says it has no evidence that the White Rabbit candies were tainted. The chain said in a statement Wednesday they are being taken off the shelves as a precaution.

The candies are sold in a small number of British stores as part of the supermarket's ethnic range.
