Plexus Gets FDA Approval For Medical Devices

Contract manufacturer says one of its Penang, Malaysia, facilities received Food and Drug Administration approval to make Class III devices.

NEENAH, Wis. (AP) — Plexus Corp., a contract manufacturer of electronics products, said Thursday its one of its Penang, Malaysia facilities received Food and Drug Administration approval to make a highly regulated class of medical devices.
 
''Class III'' is the most stringent regulatory category for medical devices, according to the FDA. They are usually devices that support or sustain human life.
