ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Conglomerate 3M Corp., which makes Scotch tape and Post-it notes, said Thursday it agreed to acquire Abzil Industria e Comercio Ltda., a Brazil-based manufacturer of orthodontic products. Financial terms were not disclosed.
3M said the acquisition will expand the company's orthodontic products offering in Brazil. 3M's orthodontics division, 3M Unitek, delivers more than 14,000 orthodontic products and solutions worldwide.
Abzil employs about 300 people at its operations in Sao Paulo.
The takeover is expected to close in the fourth quarter, pending customary closing conditions.
