ARLINGTON, Tenn. (AP) - Medical device maker Wright Medical Group Inc. said Thursday it plans to close its manufacturing, distribution and administrative plant in Toulon, France, resulting in the loss of 130 jobs. The company predicted it would book a spate of charges stemming from the closure.
Wright Medical anticipates pre-tax charges related to the closing in the range of about $20 million to $25 million. A portion of the charges are expected to occur in the second, third and fourth quarters.
The facility is expected to close in the next six months, with all production transferred to an existing manufacturing plant in Arlington, Tenn., and most of its distribution activities transferred to European headquarters in Amsterdam.
