UK Manufacturing Output Up In April

Increases were spread across the entire manufacturing sector, with none showing any significant increases, according to Britain’s Office for National Statistics.

UNITED KINGDOM - Manufacturing industry output increased 0.3 percent April from March, according to statistics released Friday by Britain’s Office for National Statistics.
 
The increases were spread across the entire manufacturing sector, and although none of the increases were significant, the largest non-significant rise was in the transport equipment industries, where output rose by 0.9 percent.
 
No significant decreases were reported.
 
In the last three months, manufacturing output dropped by 0.4 percent, while output in the electricity, gas and water supply industries decreased by 0.7 percent.
 
Mining and quarrying output rose by 1.9 percent compared with the previous three months.
