Flowserve In Joint Venture With SaudiĀ Firm To BuildĀ Pump Facility

Plant will include hydraulics training center, the first in the Middle East.

DALLAS (AP) - Fluid motion control services provider Flowserve Corp. said Tuesday it formed a joint venture with Saudi Arabia's Al Rushaid Group to build a $14 million pump repair, manufacturing and training facility in Saudi Arabia.

Construction of the 220,660-square-foot complex will begin in July, and the plant is expected to be fully operational in October 2007. Specific financial terms weren't disclosed.

The Al Rushaid/Flowserve pump facility, which will employ 100 workers, will be comprised of two units: a pump repair, manufacturing and test facility and a 32,290-square-foot hydraulics training center - the first in the Middle East. The training center is being fully funded by the Al Rushaid Group and will be a duplicate of the Flowserve Learning Center located in Dallas.

Al Rushaid Group is an international organization which provides a engineering and contracting services, facilities and products for the oil and gas, petrochemical, chemical processing and power generation industries.
