Cereplast Inc., a producer of resins made from renewable and biodegradable sources, announced Wednesday that it has signed an agreement with Brazilian plastics manufacturer, IraPlast Ltda, located in Iracemapolis, outside of Sao Paulo.
“Cereplast’s expansion into Brazil reflects the company’s continued growth in response to current and future demand for bio-based plastic products,” said Frederic Scheer, President and CEO of Cereplast.
IraPlast will import Cereplast’s resin for several of its clients, which include Sherwin-Williams, Akzo Nobel, Gymcol, Brasiluz and Starplast. IraPlast has already received inquiries from other large companies in Brazil, especially in the cosmetics industry.
