Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) yesterday announced plans to invest $75 million over the next five years to expand its operations in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, creating 75 new high-skill jobs and supporting growing demand for AI and high-performance computing solutions. Governor Tony Evers and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) joined the company to break the news.

The company will expand its testing, warehousing and manufacturing capabilities in Chippewa Falls, enhancing capacity and supporting future growth.

HPE currently employs nearly 500 Wisconsinites in Chippewa Falls. WEDC has authorized up to $5.1 million in performance-based Enterprise Zone (EZ) tax credits, building upon an $8 million EZ agreement with HPE previously announced by Gov. Evers in 2021.

The company established its Chippewa Falls location after purchasing the facility from Cray Inc. in 2019.

In 2021, Gov. Evers and WEDC announced an $8 million EZ tax credit agreement. Under that agreement, HPE exceeded its commitments by investing more than $25.9 million in Wisconsin, creating 120 new jobs and retaining 486 positions.

The WEDC Board of Directors approved an amendment to the original 2021 contract in July 2026, increasing the total available credits to $13.1 million and extending the contract by five years.

Earlier this week, Gov. Evers and the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development kicked off Manufacturing Month by announcing $6.6 million in grants to 82 employers to train 3,823 workers through the Wisconsin Training for Resilient Advanced Industry Needs (WisTRAIN) employer grant program.

The new WisTRAIN program is supported by federal funding to help deliver employer-driven, occupational skills training focused on advanced manufacturing and AI.
