Walmart Supplier To Announce Rogers Factory

Bentonville-based Wal-Mart Stores Inc. says one of its suppliers is to open a new manufacturing plant and distribution center in Rogers.

ROGERS, Ark. (AP) -- Bentonville-based Wal-Mart Stores Inc. says one of its suppliers is to open a new manufacturing plant and distribution center in Rogers.

The company says the new business is opening shop in northwest Arkansas as a result of Walmart's program to buy more U.S.-made products. Walmart didn't identify the company. The name and number of jobs will be announced at a Monday news conference.

The president and CEO of Walmart's U.S. business, Bill Simon, is to be on hand for the announcement, as is Gov. Mike Beebe.

Walmart has made a commitment to buy an additional $50 billion in U.S. made products over the coming decade.
