The efficient way to go wireless

Wireless technology has many obvious benefits: it gives people the freedom to get work done anytime and anywhere. Wireless networks also are much easier—and far less expensive—to install than wired ones. That is a major advantage in industrial settings, where wireless solutions can now be used to monitor areas that previously were too difficult—or too expensive—to reach with wires. But not all wireless networks are created equal.

This is an especially important point for those wishing to deploy wireless technology on factory floors and other potentially harsh environments to remember. An effective industrial wireless network must have the intelligence to reroute critical information when unexpected barriers—such as a pallet of metal parts traveling through a plant—suddenly block its original transmission path. The network also must be able to ensure that all data remains both secure and intact while traveling to its intended destination.
Attend this Manufacturing Business Technology editorial Executive Broadcast to hear how these smart industrial wireless solutions are helping manufacturers improve overall plant performance.
