One of the most noticeable trends in plant operations today is the move to multi-plant production management. Decades of merger and acquisition activity means that even midsize companies now operate multiple facilities, often making similar products. Yet given the legacy systems found in these plants, comparing performance amongst them can be a frustrating endeavor.
