Untethered efficiencies

In a recent AberdeenGroup survey on wireless adoption, smart phones were listed among the top two technologies businesses planned to adopt in 2008. Manufacturers are being drawn to a particular type of phone that employs leading-edge technology called push-to-talk, often referred to as the voice equivalent of instant messaging because it allows users to initiative live conversations with colleagues at will. Push-to-talk is a much more effective business tool than instant messaging because it allows groups of workers to join impromptu discussions. Often those discussions evolve into full-blown business conferences with group members exchanging documents, photos, and even video via their cell phones.
