Two New Quotes I Like
September 3, 2008
I heard a great quote at a conference today. I would give
attribution, but I’m not sure if I have the OK to cite the person
and company (they keep below the radar):
“Lean can make a good manager great. It
won’t turn a bad manager into a good one.”
I’m paraphrasing, a bit, but I believe the statement 100%.
You?
I heard another quote that I remembered reading, but it
registered more deeply today. Toyota’s Katsuaki Watanabe said in
HBR (via
The Associated Renewal Blog):
There’s no genius in our company. We just do
whatever we believe is right, trying every day to improve every
little it and piece. But when 70 years of very small improvements
accumulate, they become a revolution.
That’s a philosophy that’s hard to copy!
