AMR advisory: IDS Scheer drives performance improvements in SAP environments

The ARIS Solution for Process-Driven SAP Management from IDS Scheer continues to gain momentum with global organizations that are deploying it to leverage SAP investments.

A March 2008 report out of Boston-based AMR Research investigates the use of ARIS and SAP Solution Manager to reduce the costs and improve the results of SAP ERP deployments and upgrades. The research notes that companies using both tools together are seeing these types of benefits:

• Better validation of business processes with business owners;

• Faster blueprinting;

• Faster implementation;

• Faster rollout of the system to new businesses and geographies;

• Up-to-date documentation; and

• More effective start point.

According to AMR, "These benefits are especially helpful for new SAP implementations. Companies can use the business process content to accelerate implementation. They are left with full documentation for ARIS and Solution Manager to help support the system after go-live. Up-to-date documentation is important for support, especially if there is a high attrition rate, as seen with many outsourcers.”

The ARIS Solution for Process-Driven SAP Management supports companies throughout the entire SAP life cycle—from strategy and requirements analysis through blueprinting, configuration, testing, training, and rollout. Business processes are documented using ARIS for SAP, and analyzed within the context of the SAP system environment, as well as non-SAP and manually supported processes, yielding end-to-end business process management (BPM) that's critical in service-oriented architectures.

IDS Scheer also reports Version 7.1 within the ARIS Business Performance Edition has a new ARIS Blog and Web site with expansive BPM information. Web 2.0 tools are being leveraged to cite the ability of new ARIS Business Performance Edition products to continuously boost overall business performance.
