Compliance management: IBM launches warehouse for organizing regulatory content

IBM has launched Compliance Warehouse for Legal Control, an integrated offering that is claimed to combine software, hardware, and services to enable organizations with multiple legal and compliance mandates to reduce cost, complexity, and risk.IBM says Compliance Warehouse has an information vault for storing all the required evidence, complemented by tools that automatically identify, classify, and aggregate content and process information from multiple sources; and that allow organizations to analyze, monitor, and deliver that information for legal and operational purposes.
The warehouse is said to include all components required for a complete compliance solution, such as IBM FileNet records manager and IBM classification module, as well as other IBM software, hardware, and services provided by Cognos, Lotus, and Tivoli; IBM system storage;global business services; and global technology services. According to Lee Roberts, general manager of enterprise content management at IBM, "Companies are realizing that they need to work with a trusted partner to achieve enterprisewide compliance. Point solutions scattered throughout the organization do not provide the enterprise-level visibility or control required to ensure compliance, while decreasing risks, costs, and time-to-decision. This is particularly true when addressing legal discovery."
