ERP/PLM link-up: Consona and Omnify bring integrated solution to the midmarket
-- Manufacturing Business Technology, 9/28/2007 2:29:00 PM
Integration between Consona Intuitive ERP and Omnify product life-cycle management (PLM) now allows small and midsize manufacturers to share and synchronize engineering and manufacturing data in an automated process.
Manufacturers with sophisticated engineering requirements can use the Omnify system to manage component information, bills of material, documentation, engineering changes, and compliance data. Pertinent information is automatically passed to Intuitive ERP, where it is integrated with system's financial, distribution, and manufacturing modules.
"Both [ERP] and product life-cycle management bring unique value to an operation, but when combined, provide a streamlined, collaborative environment that bridges the gap between manufacturing and engineering," says David Whitney, VP of strategic sales for Omnify Software.
Breakaway Imaging, a Littleton, Mass.-based manufacturer of medical imaging equipment, uses an integrated Omnify-Intuitive solution to streamline the engineering of sophisticated 3D machines used in operating rooms, emergency rooms, intensive care units, and trauma centers throughout the world.
"With the integration, we can automatically load new parts and engineering changes from Omnify into Intuitive ERP, which helps us work quickly to meet customer requirements and deliver on time," says Wolfgang Krull, VP of operations and supply chain. "Both solutions working together are helping Breakaway Imaging maintain FDA-regulated documentation standards, as well as address growing worldwide business requirements."
As part of the formal partnership, integration also is on tap between Consona's other flagship software application, Made2Manage ERP.
