Despite losing the personal computer lead to HP, Dell's global services division is one of its fastest-growing businesses. In addition to three other recent hires to the Global Executive Management Committee, Steve Schuckenbrock, former cochief operating officer of Electronic Data Systems, was appointed new head of global services. "Our services business is one of our strategic pillars for Dell 2.0," says Kevin Rollins, CEO, Dell. "Steve has worked as CIO of one of the most recognized brands in the world, and as chief operating officer of one of the premier service delivery companies. We believe his experience as both a customer and a leader of IT services will bring our customers a high level of understanding and innovation."
The worldwide IT services market is estimated at $640 billion. Dell's services revenues rose 33 percent last year, to $4.9 billion.
