QAD picks up FBO Systems for EAM extensions
By Staff -- Manufacturing Business Technology, 12/1/2006
Enterprise systems vendor QAD has acquired enterprise asset management (EAM) vendor FBO Systems (FBOS) in a $4-million, all-cash deal expected to be paid over a three-year period.
Says Pamela M. Lopker, QAD chairman and president, of the deal, "We are strongly committed to helping users shape a 'perfect lean market' for manufacturing. Combined with our purchase of Precision Software and our new product releases, this move strengthens our ability to deliver complete enterprise solutions with lasting bottom-line results."
QAD EAM—formerly FBOS's flagship solution, called MLS—enables customers to actively manage maintenance workflow, capital projects, spare parts inventory and procurement, and regulatory compliance. Planning and process tools address all planned, unplanned, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance requirements, enabling reductions in direct and indirect costs of inventory, labor, and material and contract expenses.
