ERP and more for SMBs that want freedom of choice

Sage Software's success stems from continued efforts to set its sights on being a one-stop shop for small and mid-size businesses [SMBs], says John Schoutsen, a company VP. Consequently, he explains, customers have the freedom of choice to choose applications, technology platforms, and deployment models—including hosted or on-premise.
"We offer a best-of-breed approach for SMBs that gives them the flexibility to operate a business end to end—from customer relationship management solutions to EDI applications used to communicate with supply chain partners," Schoutsen says. "And because our solutions are integrated, they're more attractive to companies that don't have the time, money, or staff for complicated integration and support."
Sage Software, which is perhaps best known for its Peachtree accounting software and MAS 90 and MAS 200 ERP solutions, has broadened its product line—adding new and enhanced accounting, online payroll, human resources, and fund-raising. Its CRM SalesLogix v7, for instance, includes interactive dashboards, drill-down analysis, expanded lead management & e-mail marketing capabilities, integrated service & support, mobile solutions, and enhanced integration with Sage ERP back-office solutions.
"Our goal is to offer highly functional solutions that integrate well and offer a growth path," Schoutsen says. "Typically, customers implement one product suite to address particular pain points, and then move on to integrate other solutions later. That way, they're able to implement solutions on their time line and within budget."
