SAP teams with PM Solutions in agreement aimed at EPM

PM Solutions, a developer of a Web-enabled project management methodology called the Project Management Community of Practice, announces what it terms an enterprise project management (EPM)-focused partnership with ERP vendor SAP. PM Solutions will deliver:

• global and regional project management office (PMO) services;
• project management methodology enhancement and integration with SAP's own ASAP (Accelerated SAP) rapid implementation methodology;
• project management maturity and knowledge assessments; and
• an evaluation process with metrics for measuring PMO initiatives.

At the heart of SAP's project management initiative is establishing regional PMOs supported by a global PMO offering standard project management practices. The partnership with PM Solutions is expected to streamline SAP's enterprisewide project management processes.

Currently, both vendors are conducting project management maturity benchmark assessments at SAP subsidiaries in North America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia, and anticipate integrating their findings to develop a global maturity plan, implement the improvement initiatives, and measure SAP's maturity advancement.
