Goodrich Corp.'s aircraft wheel & brake services team has upgraded its Avexus Impresa implementation to version 7i3 to improve service levels at multiple locations while gaining centralized management and consolidated reporting from Goodrich's team headquarters in Troy, Ohio. This allows a consolidated view of work execution, including planning & scheduling, manpower requirements, work-in-process, and inventory requirements.
Volvo Powertrain says it has cut inventory in half using PipeChain's collaborative supply chain execution solution. "It was our most profitable investment this year," says Lena Palm Sandin, head of Volvo Powertrain's logistics project. "The project includes deliveries of materials from about 50 suppliers, which together make up about 80 percent of the value of our engines and transmissions. To achieve these results, we created a network where we and the suppliers work together to achieve rapid and controlled flow of goods, which strongly reduces the need for stock."
ICICI Infotec's Product Tracking System is in use at New Britain, Conn.-based apparel manufacturer The Weathervane to streamline its supply chain, improve data management processes, reduce production cycle time & airfreight costs, and pre-allocate goods prior to receipt. Also, the Scanning & Packing module of the system allows applying UCC128 labels to shipping cartons, scanning the labels, and pulling an online packing list.
Katun Corp., which offers imaging supplies, is using Logility's Voyager Solutions to streamline sales & operations planning between corporate sales, finance, distribution, and marketing. Voyager Collaborate presents a consolidated view of supply chain information—e.g., forecasted sales, customer orders, inventory, shipments, back orders, and operating budgets—for a "one number" view of the business.
The European division of Heatcraft Worldwide Refrigeration is using Access Commerce's Cameleon Advanced Configurator and Cameleon Visual Selling to configure refrigeration solutions, accelerate quotations, and optimize order processing for make-to-order products.
Houston, Pa.-based Perryman Co., a specialty titanium products maker, is using Axis Computer Systems' AXIOM Enterprise Resource Management System to support nearly all sales, production, quality, and financial management functions.
PPG Industries, Pittsburgh, is using FreeMarkets' GSM solutions—including FreeMarkets ES and FreeMarkets QS—to standardize purchasing across PPG's global operations. The software manages supplier relationships, sourcing, and decisions & contracts.
Italian engineering contractor Tecnimont has signed for an automation solution from Honeywell Process Solutions that includes Experion PKS (Process Knowledge System) and Fail Safe Controller. The integrated solution will be used at Basell/Orlen's polyethylene and polypropylene plants in Plock, Poland.
WhereNet Corp., in partnership with Siemens Automation and Drives Group (A&D), says the BMW Group plant in Dingolfing, Germany has installed the Sicalis RTL (Real-Time Locating) system, powered by WhereNet, to locate any new vehicle that comes off the assembly line each day. Via a Web browser, Sicalis RTL graphically displays the location of every car in the plant.
