By Staff -- MSI, 9/1/2003

Seven U.K. sites of the Ministry of Defense's Army Base Repair Organization (ABRO) will implement Cincom Systems' CONTROL, Cincom's ERP system. ABRO, which remanufactures land systems equipment for Britain's armed forces, wanted to integrate and standardize its business processes across units and extract better information. The rollout should be complete March 2005, including collaboration and quality management systems; advance planning; financials; and a business intelligence suite. Also, the commercial marine business unit of Rolls-Royce is using Cincom's Knowledge Builder and Sales Configurator products as part of a contract valued at plus-$1 million.

Specifically, Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control needed to track labor statistics in plants in Texas and Arkansas, and then feed the resulting data into its ERP system for DoD compliance reports and invoicing. The system was running in less than 90 days.

Kubota Manufacturing of America, which makes commercial-grade small tractors, has gone live with B2B Technologies' Kubota SupplierLink 2, a Web-based system that allows Kubota to communicate production requirements to all its suppliers and collaborate on scheduling and shipping. Kubota reportedly is seeing reductions in overdue orders, shorter lead times, and better delivery accuracy.

Datasweep says Storage network solutions manufacturer LSI Logic Corp. is implementing the Datasweep Advantage solution to improve LSI's operations and customer service. The software connects production to the extended supply chain, which facilitates FDA and ISO compliance.

Volvo Cars Corp. has selected Enigma's 3C Platform as the foundation for an after-sales and diagnostic information system. Enigma 3C will give Volvo dealers access to integrated parts, services, and pricing information for all Volvo models.
