IQMS, a provider of manufacturing enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, says RackTruck platform solution improved warehouse efficiency in moving products by 20 percent at Double H Plastics. RackTruck is a sophisticated inventory management application that combines inventory scanning, forklift mounted monitors and stocking location mapping for manufacturers, IQMS says.
Better inventory management is one of many eco-friendly, advances supply chain solutions.
The IQMS Automation Group developed the RackTruck module to create greater efficiency and automation between shop-floor hardware and ERP software, for leaner manufacturing operations. RackTruck uses fork-lift mounted monitors and scanners to:
• Analyze inventory stocking or shipment requirements;
• Determine which pallets should be pulled for orders;
• Compare requirements to the goods being made;
• Combine supply and production review to determine stock location or cross docking instruction; and
• Determine what is left on the floor and prioritize the pulls and put-away for efficient use of personnel and and equipment.
"IQMS developed the unique RackTruck solution rapidly when we asked for help," said Frank Sica, supply chain manager for Double H Plastics. "We're now able to easily catch schedule changes to ensure docks are filled with the correct product. This has reduced the number of duplicate pulls to virtually zero, and we have improved our warehouse efficiency in moving products by 20 percent."
Double H Plastics provides plastic molding and extrusions for the food, paper, film and foil converting industry, has experienced great success operating the single-source EnterpriseIQ ERP platform for its growing manufacturing and molding needs. In 2007, Double H implemented EnterpriseIQ throughout its multiple locations.
