SaaS integration: SuiteCloud Connect pulls in two largest business apps computing clouds

By Manufacturing Business Technology Staff -- Manufacturing Business Technology, 4/10/2009 9:03:00 AM

On-demand business management software provider NetSuite announces a series of partner applications that bring together the industry’s two largest business application computing clouds.

SuiteCloud Connect for Salesforce.com connects the NetSuite and Salesforce.com cloud platforms, enabling Salesforce.com customers to integrate their CRM processes with ERP and e-commerce functionality.

With SuiteCloud Connect for Salesforce.com, businesses can now benefit from integration between Salesforce.com and NetSuite, which enables an integrated lead-to-cash process, deep customer visibility for enhanced sales processes, and the elimination of manual processes across business units.

SuiteCloud Connect for Salesforce.com includes a number of cloud-based integration applications built for the latest versions of both NetSuite (version 2009 Release 1) and Salesforce.com (Spring 09). These applications were built by independent software vendors that also are charter members of NetSuite’s SuiteCloud Developer Network, announced mid-March. ISVs include Celigo, Boomi, Pervasive Software, and Cast Iron Systems.

"Bringing together the two largest business application clouds is a smart move by NetSuite and Salesforce.com that should benefit customers and the SaaS [Software-as-a-Service] industry at large," says Michael Fauscette, a group VP with Cambridge, Mass.-based IDC Manufacturing Insights. "SuiteCloud Connect for Salesforce.com allows customers to integrate a leading SaaS CRM product and a leading on-demand financial application in a way that encourages the use of robust, third-party integration technologies. More of this kind of flexibility and openness is needed to unlock the huge potential of cloud computing."
