MES delivered as subscription gives smaller guys options

Cimnet says it may be the only manufacturing execution system (MES) vendor that offers its solution on a subscription basis. Says CEO John Richardson, "It has given us a leg up when it comes to working with smaller companies because it offers them alternatives when it comes to funding a project. We've seen slow but steady growth in its adoption. It does take a while to explain the difference between a perpetual license and subscribing."
In its subscription model, Cimnet doesn't host the solution, since this could deleteriously impact its real-time performance. Rather, it resides on servers at the plant site.
