InfoShuttle application data-management solution sees adoption surge

By Manufacturing Business Technology Staff -- Manufacturing Business Technology, 9/13/2007 11:38:00 AM

Gamma Enterprise Technologies, which offers InfoShuttle application data management software for companies running SAP solutions, reports a 37-percent increase in sales for the first half of 2007 over the same period last year.
Leading companies worldwide including Groupe Danone, Novartis, Panasonic Canada, Saint Gobain Abrasives, Sogesma, and Suncor Energy chose Gamma's InfoShuttle Suite solutions to solve their application data management challenges. To support the development of new application technology, Gamma executed new strategic alliance agreements with Symantec and Hewlett-Packard during the first half of 2007.
New Gamma customers have been most interested in InfoShuttle application components released this year—e.g., Data Security, Rapid Test, and Client Builder, which represented 23 percent of the company's first-half bookings. Demand for Gamma's application data management solutions also is strong among existing customers with a 90-percent renewal rate, demonstrating Gamma's position next to other world-class software providers.
"Third-party tools are becoming increasingly important to helping enterprises leverage their SAP investments," says Mike Chesswas, managing director of Australia-based Ascend Data Solutions. "Working with Gamma, we can engineer effective, easy-to-use solutions that solve critical business problems and enable our customers to maintain their competitive edge."
Recognizing that technologies address privacy concerns, as well as legal and statutory requirements, are becoming essential business tools, Gamma introduced a data security product for businesses running SAP solutions.
"Businesses are beginning to understand the exposure and potential liability they face by having unprotected data on their non-production systems," says Suzanne Swanson, executive VP, Gamma Enterprise Technologies. "InfoShuttle Data Security was developed to enable organizations to protect confidential data and comply with regulatory requirements by providing processes to use, customize and create sophisticated rules for masking or obfuscating sensitive information that has been moved into development, test, training and other environments."
A new add-on to Gamma's InfoShuttle Data On Demand solution, Rapid Test automates the process of test data management by facilitating development of functional and regression test scripts for HP Quality Management products to test SAP applications. To further optimize the testing process, Gamma became a platinum member of HP's Enterprise Management Alliance program. Gamma's Data on Demand also supports and complements the new SAP Testing and Optimization solution (SAP TAO), providing best practices on the use of existing Test Data Management solutions.
Another key product introduced this year includes InfoShuttle Client Builder. This solution builds new "lean" clients with user-selected master and transaction data from production to shorten development and testing cycles. By streamlining data management through multiple production support functions, InfoShuttle reduces the time, risk and expense of building and deploying applications so companies can be more productive, competitive and compliant.
