Oracle has integrated trade promotions functionality into its JD Edwards EnterpriseOne software suite. It says this integration will especially benefit consumer goods manufacturers—giving them the ability to efficiently monitor and control trade spending, validate compliance, and improve the return on investment of promotional dollars.
Oracle acquired the trade promotions capability when it purchased Demantra, a specialist in demand management solutions, in 2006.
Oracle says the Demantra product suite is being used successfully by more than 50 JD Edwards EnterpriseOne customers across a variety of industries and platforms, and this announcement demonstrates Oracle’s commitment to preserving customers' investments in existing Oracle Applications while integrating best-in-class capabilities between Oracle's different offerings.
By integrating the predictive trade planning, promotion optimization, and deduction and settlement management functionality of Oracle's Demantra 7.2 with Oracle's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.12, companies can implement best-in-class trade promotions management processes across their enterprise, the company says.
According to an Oracle press release, this integration features many enhancements that give customers an understanding of the impact of promotions on supply chain costs and constraints to optimize supply chain performance. With the ability to execute more accurate volume forecasts, customers are equipped to improve service levels, reduce inventory, and lower distribution costs.
