Solectron ups visibility using Kinaxis response management solution

Staff -- Manufacturing Business Technology, 7/23/2007 12:49:00 PM

Solectron's original equipment manufacturing (OEM) customers can enjoy real-time visibility to the global contract electronics manufacturer’s production facilities by way of the Kinaxis RapidResponse solution, which provides a means to view and evaluate production information from multiple ERP and other data systems.

Kinaxis RapidResponse permits real-time ‘what-if?’ analysis and generates resolutions, given available inventory and capacity that are best aligned with corporate strategies.

"Volatility of demand and competition, as well as the compression of product life cycles are contributing to an environment wherein how quickly you can respond to changes becomes a key competitive differentiator,” says Randy Littleson, Kinaxis VP of marketing. “Solectron is at the eye of the storm, with changes coming in from all directions from its customers and suppliers. Solectron uses RapidResponse internally, but also is stepping up to help its customers respond to change through coordinated activity. Solectron is sharing information from its system to enable broader visibility.”
