ERP on demand: SAP offers quick-start program for midsize companies

Datamonitor Newswire -- Manufacturing Business Technology, 3/3/2008 12:03:00 PM

SAP has announced a new fast-start program for its SAP Business-All-in-One solutions. The program offers midsize companies in the manufacturing, services, and trade industries pre-configured industry-specific processes to streamline and gain visibility into their core business operations.
The solution is offered in both on-demand and on-premise configurations. SAP says the offering can lower total cost of ownership even for companies that chose the on-premise options, thanks to its coupling with SAP MaxDB—that SAP database product—and the free choice of operating system.
The on-demand option enables prospects to tailor the solution to their business requirements and receive a comprehensive cost estimate for the complete SAP Business All-in-One solution—all before they get started, according to SAP executives.
With the new fast-start program, SAP takes an additional step toward providing innovative ways for customers to easily access enterprise resource planning (ERP) technology and achieve faster time to value, all while providing long-term protection of the customer's investment. The program enables companies to get industry-specific business processes up and running quickly and make better-informed business decisions based on greater visibility across their operations. With a clearly defined set of pre-configured industry processes, implementation is fast and more predictable. Based on the state-of-the-art SAP ERP application, the SAP Business All-in-One solution can scale to meet customer's changing business needs.
