Sensicast Systems says its SensiNet Services let plant and facility managers use temperature-, energy-, and moisture-monitoring applications over the Internet without having to locate the applications within their own network infrastructure. The services leverage mesh networking sensor technology by enabling transparent connectivity with monitoring and control systems that support widely used industrial protocols and standards—e.g., MODBUS, TCP, ODBC, OPC, and Web services.
The Web-based applications span solutions for process optimization; storage, manufacturing, and testing facilities; FDA 21 CFR Part 11 compliance; and water damage mitigation. No changes are required to enterprise security policies or firewall configurations. The services enable real-time M2M connectivity between SensiNet and industrial control, building automation, database-driven applications, and SCADA systems.
“As the first integrated measurement system to combine wireless sensor networking with Web access, SensiNet Services lets manufacturers measure anything, from anywhere—and without wires,” says CEO Gary Ambrosino.
